The Arctic Experience 2024

The course is hosted by the Nordic Federation of Clinical Chemistry (NFKK), the Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation (SJCLI), and the Norwegian Organization for Quality Improvement of Laboratory Examinations (Noklus). The aim of the course is to increase awareness of the importance of scientific writing and to train the participants in writing a scientific manuscript. The course will be organized in both structured lectures and in groups writing a scientific manuscript based on given data and literature.

When and where

January 23rd-26th, 2024, Finse, Norway. Finse is located in the southernmost part of Europe with an arctic climate at 1222 meters above sea level and only accessible by train, from either Bergen or Oslo (www.finse.no and www.finse1222.no). This remote location has been selected in order to find the necessary calm and tranquility for maximal focus on the activities during the course as well as for team building and network forming.

Who can participate?

The course is open to all members of the five Nordic national societies (NSMB in Norway, DSKB in Denmark, SFKK in Sweden, SKKY/FKKF in Finland, and KKLÍ in Iceland). The course is aimed at Nordic colleagues within the field of medical biochemistry/clinical chemistry, primarily those in postgraduate specialist training and/or involved in research projects. The maximum number of participants is 20. The official language is English or a language understandable for all participants.

Participant fee

The course is financially supported by NFKK and SJCLI, the fee is therefore only 5000 NOK. The fee includes roundtrip train tickets Bergen/Oslo – Finse, accommodation for three nights at Finse Hotel, breakfast/lunch/dinner, congress facilities, course materials and social activities.
